Meeting minutes/Action Items, March 14 VHEC Steering Committee meeting:

Discussion
Dan Costin reported that @130 pledge cards were captured before being sent on to EVT. The VISTAS, Drew DeVitis and Luke Rafferty, have transcribed these into a spreadsheet and sent them to EVT.
It was decided that the Outreach will initially be focused on two avenues: Phonebanking and Canvassing.
A Phone-a-thon event was tentatively set for Wednesday, March 27.
Door-to-door events were set for Saturday, April 6 and Saturday, April 20
Planning for the Phone-a-thon and Door-to-door events were discussed. The following approaches were discussed/planned:
Phone-a-thon: Potential access to use of VNRC and VPIRG member lists – a set of likely warm leads – was suggested. Johanna to follow this up.
Phone-a-thon: Use of the Montpelier phone book as fallback if calls to warm leads are completed.
Phone-a-thon: Another fallback approach – prioritizing the more-organized CAN neighborhoods -- was suggested
Phone-a-thon: Johanna thinks we can use the VNRC meeting room for the phone-a-thon; she’ll check on that.
Door-to-Door.Phone-a-thon: We’ll look into help from CAN resources for the door-to-door efforts, and perhaps the Phone-a-thon. It was agreed that we should speak to Gwen and the VISTAs regarding access to any existing CAN email-lists and phone lists.
Door-to-Door/Phone-a-thon: Using the contact information obtained from VHEC pledge cards collected at the Energy Fair.
Planning began for Home Energy Visits. Dan Costin volunteered to be Lead here. This will begin with follow-up of pledge cards indicating intent to take energy-saving actions. Jim Stiles and Barry McPhee will help Dan C. No specific dates yet set.
Planning for a MEAC VHEC presence at this Saturday’s (3/16/13) Global Warming Conference at MHS: Dan Jones to confirm, with Bernie Sanders’ office, our ability to Table at this event.
Open Questions
· Did we reach consensus re: a date for the Phone-a-thon? (March 27 was suggested; thoughts?)
