SUMMARY
Rising fuel prices over the last year have heightened Vermonters interest in reducing energy use through improved energy efficiency in their homes.  Unfortunately, many Vermonters did not tae advantage of a wide range of relatively low-cost energy saving opportunities currently available through EVT for a variety of reasons.

The Vermont Community Energy Mobilization (VCEM) Pilot Project is gauging the effectiveness of training a cadre of community volunteers to conduct home energy visits to directly install low-cost energy saving measures in Vermonters homes and increase awareness about energy savings opportunities.  The project is being implemented by Efficiency Vermont (EVT), in partnership with the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network and local partners--like, in Montpelier, the Montpelier Energy Team.
